If you check the road conditions in EO you will find it has limited access to

Simpsons open Mate. Just spent a few days at Dalhousie and there were lots of people there from Birsdville and a fair few leaving every day to go to birsdville.
Was in
Birdsville a few weeks ago and it was meant to be closed then two. Didnt seem to stop anyone.
But from the rander at Dalhousie is open.

a friend has been in contact with the Mt. Dare guys regularly in the last 2 weeks and also including today. Eyre
Creek bypass will officially open at the end of this week though people have already been crossing it. the
water will be about 700mm deep and is flowing very quickly apparently, due to the speed the
water is flowing, there have been some people not wanting to cross it, so be aware of this.
average fuel consumption to cross
the desert has been about 150 ltrs, though i'm not sure what route and can only assume it was diesel they were talking about. sorry it was a brief phone call i got from my mate tonight. Mt. Dare boys expect this figure to reduce as more vehicles travel the track in upcoming weeks.
hope this helps abit
