After a led light to replace the outside light on our Coromal 401.The switch is inside so only a matter of soldering wires and fixing to some where on the outside. Can anyone recommend a light to suit. The present light is only a globe similar to inside a car that draws at least an amp and not a very bright light.Have already replaced the halogen down lights inside that each drew 1 amp with led lights that only draw 1.1 watt. The old lights not a worry while on 240 with the charger running but as this is the only draw on the battery should be able get away with running the gennie very little while camping in the bush with led lights only.Perhaps only 2 amps per hour each night.

Thanks to all that reply.
cheers Graeme.

Hi Graeme,
I replaced a halogen outside light on our camper with a very bright weatherproof ledlight and it is fantastic. We tend to use it more too because of the low power it uses.
We got it from www.brightlightautoparts.com and they have a great range to choose from. We got the one with 90 leds and it has a 5 year warranty.
I have no connection with this company apart from buying from them on line.
Cheers,
Neil

i can vouch for this company aswell, i just purchased one of their 60 led lights for the back of my fourby. i found them on ebay when i searched LED lights in the cars and bike section, light arrived 4 days later in the mail.
very bright light which lit up my carport and most of the backyard, i'll be buying some more from them to go on my caravan, just need to decide which one now.

G'day Graeme
I have been looking at those flat slimline LED brand led lights for the ute. They are in various lengths & only about 25 mm wide.
They are weatherproof & all that stuff & you can connect them with double sided tape or silicon.
They might not suit the outside of your van because they are not directional, but they are bright, cheap & easy to fit.
One of my crazy mates loves light & has them all over the place. He's got 2 under the bonnet, a couple in the ute tray & one over the tow ball. Oh & one over each of the water taps on his tanks.
