the boots on my front axles or driveshafts are leaking grease how can i tighten up the existing clamps or do i need to replace them ;would screw type radiator hose clamps be good enough;there does not appear to be any splits in the boots;thanks barry

Toyota saw fit to cut my staino bands and replace them with big cable ties.
If yours is an sr5 I'd strongly suggest putting hubs on the vehicle - saves a heap of boot wear as they don't turn constantly.

yes it is a sr5 can you please supply info on hubs what brand where to buy etc also approx price for a pair; i live outer

I agree re: the hubs.
I have a 2002 SR5 and put AVM free wheel hubs on. The info on the side of the box says:
456
Manual Toyota Hilux
RZN 169/LN 167/LN 172
26 Splines
That should be enough info to get what you're after. I got
mine from a Terrain Tamer outlet in WA, but I'm sure you could get them from other
places.
From memory they're about low $300 fitted.

That'd be those -
I had the AVM's also (sunstate 4wd QLD for
mine), otherwise get a set of asin's of a wrecked povo pack lux. It's no more than a ten minute job to install them. Just unbolt locking stub end off the car, and bolt on the hubs. They should be somewhere around $130 a side to buy new.
