Hi guy's has any one removed the brake light switch from the top of the Man gearbox on a NJ Paj? Seems impossible to get too.... If you have any tips it would be good.
Cheers.

Humor me ... why would there be a brake light switch on the gearbox?. They are mounted on the top of the brake pedal in the 80 or so vehicles I've owned.
Cheers
Dave.

Well in that case (without knowing the paj intimately) is it possible to put a jack under the gearbox, undo the mounts and lower it down an inch? If you go too far the engine mounts may break or the fan may hit the radiator (just keep checking). On a cruiser you can lower it 2-3-inches at the rear of the transfer case without doing damage.
Would that work?
Cheers
Dave

Thanks Dave, yes I was just looking at that. I think it's possible by lowering the gearbox a Tad.
I may as
well do the clutch slave as
well, just noticed paint bubbling off under that as
well. Bugger! hate playing under cars these days.
Cheers.

Me old Morry Minor's got a big removable floor pan over the gearbox for such jobs, but I can't find the reversing light switch.
Maybe if there's a cover plate somewhere........................;-)
Maybe not :-(
