Coopers warranty

Had cracks develop on sidewalls next to rim. one place said normal practice no warranty.
Went to another one and within twenty minutes had an offer of 80/20% which means I pay 20% pear each tyre. These tyres had only done 10,000 k's

So if your Cooper Tyres are cracked do not take no for an answer warranty worked for me. these are 265/75/16 ATR on nissaan 4x4

"Cooper Tyres are cracked ........... warranty worked for me."
I often wonder how good the warranty really is when I suspect they gave you another set of the same tyres that failed to perform for you the first time? In fact they didn't even go close at just 8% of their expected life!
Cheers Craig............!

Gaday Morry. As you have found the local Cooper dealer here (Vic) has almost always come to the party too with a prorata same brand replacement for members in our club. Pays to go in prepared though & insist if you don't get the right answer the first time up.
Cheers Craig...

Morry

A few years back, a work mate of mine had his Coopers spit off some lugs, and the rep dropped, and blurted to him that it's the air he was running in them.
He took him into his shed and asked the rep " then how do you explain this set ?"
"They haven't even been on my 4B yet".

I had a good run out of my Cooper ATR's on the Navara, but a set of ST's were on the Patrol, when I got it.

I run BFG's now !

Cheers

I wouldn,t knock coopers warranty . I have had 3 sets of ST s on my patrol
replaced no questions asked . within 10k because of the radial cracks
the local cooper man said what about trying STT s they don,t have the problem , as I do mostly offroad thats what I went with , $50 per tyre to swap over . try getting warranty back up out of any other brand ,there is always some reason other than the tyre .

Hi Morry,

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I've had a set of Cooper ST's for a couple oy years, as my off-road only set, so they haven't had a lot of use (not my everyday tyre).

Recently I noticed they were developing similar cracks around the bead area, but not as bad as those in your picture. I queried this with the place I get my tyres, and they arranged for the Cooper rep to come and inspect.

Apparently there were a few problems with a batch of both ST's and ATR's from about that time, and he had no hesitation replacing on a pro-rata basis.
Mine still had 80% tread left, so got 80% off a replacement set (although I opted for a different set of Coopers for other reasons).

In short, I also got good service without any hassles. 4 new tyres ended up costing me $50 per tyre.

Cheers, Mark.

I wasnt a big fan of coopers before but after you inform me that their warranty is pro rata warranty on tread depth , What a joke. Been driving for over 30 years and with the odd tyre problem I had (2 bridgestone and 1 Kumho) they were replaced pro rata at the first tyre service that sold their brand with no questions so it would seem that this 80.000km (not all that great anyway) warranty is a laugh because they all measure tread depth and take off money for the unused tyre life. For the money they charge i would want a no questions asked full replacement 80,000km warranty.
