Securing Awning and Roof Bars

Hi guys, has anyone come up with a way of securing your car awning and roof bars (anti theft nuts and bolts etc) to stop people from borrowing them permanently?

I for one was not aware that this had become common practice, I had better give some thought to this as I am just about to fit a side awning.

having just bout lock nuts for my lightforce spotties I can't see why the same type of nuts,screws, wouldn't be available for roof bars and awnings, the spotty lock nuts are the same as" wheel lock nuts"I got mine frome a truck supple
