Tim Im going through the same as you and I understand your dilemna. The general feeling is that the quality of the steel is all important. Some springs are made from cheaper imported steel that has a higher carbon content that makes the steel less flexible and more prone to breakage. It also gives a less comfortable ride. Some use a combination of imported and local and some claim to use all Australian. One outlet claimed the Australian spring steel is actually exported and is cast in Malaysian and Indian blast furnaces and sent back here. There are owners who are happy with the cheaper imported steel although they claimed their vehicles were for bushbashing rather than everyday use.
After much searching I veered away from some of the more prominent names as I felt I was just contributing to their big advertising and sponsorship budget rather than getting anything special. Keep pricing and talking till you drop and eventully you will get what you want at the right price .Just make sure you are wearing your bull#@$T deflectors because you will have plenty coming our way.If you want to email me I will give you details on a good deal I got

SHARYN
I WENT TO THE KONI STAND AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY RECOMMEND USING KING SPRINGS BECAUSE THEY ARE A GOOD PRODUCT AND HAVE VERY LITTLE SAG OVER THE YEARS.
THE FRONT SPRINGS ARE ALL THE SAME BUT THEY HAVE ABOUT 10 DIFFERENT RATE SPRINGS FOR THE REARS DEPENDING ON THE LOAD THAT HAS TO BE CARRIED OR HOW HARD YOU WANT IT.
I THINK THIS IS THE WAY I WILL GO BECAUSE I HAVE HAD MANY MORE GOOD COMENTS ON THEM AS WELL
CHEERS TIM
