Within reason, what accessories should I fit on new Prado GXL Turbo Diesel about to be delivered? We tow a 16.5 Jayco outback Pop Top. We do get off the road but mainly for day trips or
beach fishing. We mostly travel on our own so need to be as self reliant as possible. I have some specific questions and hope to keep the total bill under $5k.
Bull Bar - I am thinking about the ARB Sahara winch bar. This is the one with steel bumper bar but the top is more like a nudge bar than a roo bar. I think they look good but am wondering if they give enough protection from an animal strike?
Winch - I am getting really mixed messages from ARB dealers on the price. Quotes on Warn vary enormously and they seem expensive. I have heard of a Tiger (?) for less than $1,000. Does anyone with actual experience know why quotes from ARB should vary so much and whether a cheaper winch is worth having? We normally travel on our own so the winch is just insurance rather than to be used frequently.
Diff lockers - would love them but if I went this way, they would use up most of my budget.
Snorkel - are they really necessary when most driving won't be through bull dust?
Lift kit - ?
Dual battery system - not really looking at this because our van is
well equipped for power. For over night excursions, I can take one of the deep cycle Thumpers out of the van.
All help will be appreciated.

Bullbar and lift kit(not necessarily higher but upgraded springs and shocks) would be on top of my list, then
snorkel and winch. Lockers are great but not really needed for what you are doing. You seem to have the battery system covered.
I prefer the bullbars with full frontal protection, just personal preference though. I reckon they would protect better against partial roo strikes.
The cheap
winches (Tigerz etc) seem to be good value for money. Better to have that than no winch at all.
