Hi all, long time reader first time writer.
I have an ARB Rooftop tent on an ARB Touring Rack and was wondering if anyone had a photo of the ARB Awning mounting brackets so that I can make some instead of paying the $90+ that ARB want for them. I have a 2.5 meter awning that needs to be mounted to the side of the rack but as the rack doesn't have a top rail I cannot drill off the side.. I apologise if this has already been covered but I have searched and have been unable to find anything. The bracket I'm talking about is apparently an 'L' shape bracket with some holes in it.
Thanks in advance

thebigvman,
not answering your question - but have you seen Freds Arm? - I don't get the value of an awning on the side - needs to be on the back of the car, but then it will be too narrow.... Freds Arm allows the awning to be easily relocated (in 60 seconds) from side to back of vehicle, but be stored on the side of the vehicle (ready for use), and so is also full length (which makes for a nice width at the back of the car....
Not sure you'd fabricate it yourself - but have a look

Thanks Ivan,
I'll check it out. The reason for no awning on the back is that the rooftop tent folds out over the back giving the back cover from the elements. I'll have a google of Fred's Arm as I may be able to use the idea.
Thanks again
Cheers

Hi,
I have a 2.5m ARB awning on the side of my X-trail. My roof racks are Rhino racks so the standard size awning bracket wouldn't fit. They used L shape brackets to slot into the ends of the Rhino racks.
I will try and take a photo of it today for you, but as it's attached I'm not sure if it will be any help?
Cheers,

The brackets were $19 for the pair.

Thanks Jo Q,
I appreciate you posting the pics. They give me an idea for mounting
mine on the ARB rack using the same principle. I think that the ones that I use would have to be longer so that I can attach them to the existing bolts that hold the rack to the roof rack legs.
Thanks again

Thanks everyone for your help. I actually slipped in ARB today and got myself a look at the awning brackets. Ended up buying a set as I got a good deal on them and a few other things. If I get the chance I will photograph them and post some photos.
Thanks again

Hi Just check that you mount the awning rail low enough so you can still unzip the cover of the roof top tent.
