I currently have a pair of Aussie Truck towing mirrors which have been OK but I don't like how they hook under the window rubber.
I am looking at the Coppa Rossa with the stabilising arm with suction mount on door.
Has anyone used them? Ideas/thoughts/suggestions?
Thank you.

I use a couple of those that just strap onto the standard mirrors. The RH one however has an elastic band that hooks over the leading edge of the door to prevent it blowing back.
(Also have a camera that limits dependence on the mirrors.)
Never been that keen on the truck type, apart from the abrasion type problems, they have 'no give' if somebody walks into them.

Hello Garytee,
I use Coppa Rossi and find them adequate when on smooth roads. On rough bitumen and gravel roads, vibration affects their performance.
Like most extension mirrors, they are subject to being blown about by large vehicles passing from the opposite direction, even with the stabilisers in position.
Check how they attach to your car mirrors before buying them. I found that they needed slight modification to make them fit securely.
I added rubber padding to the plastic strapping that secures each mirror in place. This was done to stop the car's mirror backs from being marked.
I also added a second stabilising arm - I made them up from commonly found materials - to stop the mirrors from being deflected backwards by passing traffic and to further reduce vibration. I've seen other folk use bungy cords to achieve the same result.
The suction caps on the end of the stabilising arms worked
well and did not scratch the doors.
I like the Coppa Rossa mirrors. When attached, their placement allows you to still have the use of the door mirrors.
Happy travels !

Hullo Gary,
I ditched my Aussie Mirrors. They were rubbish.
I use two ORA mirrors on my 200 Series. I use the Big Red on the drivers side and the "normal" size one on the passenger side. I emailed ORA in
Canberra, excellent to deal with, and got them to replace the suction cap (as it never sucked on
well) with the large square magnetic pad. I have the magnetic pad on both sides now.
If you mount the main arm UNDER the vehicle mirror you will be able to position the support arm at closer to a right angle to the mirrror arm and they will never ever blow off when passing oncoming trucks.
By the way, they are cheaper to buy direct from ORA.
cheers

Gooday, you do not say what vehicle you have them on, I have had the same type of mirror and used them regularly for approx 8 years, Jeep Grand Cherokee and now Commander for past 4 years without a problem. If you are going to buy a set get them from Camec, they have their own which are a clone of the Vision Plus they used to sell, were Yankee, and the Aussie is a copy of the original Vision Plus but not in the same class. The Camec have a 9"X7" mirror with S/Steel back Camaec ones are identical and not much more than the Aussie but far superior . Cheers,
Boroma604.

I have vision plus for 8 or 9 years, I like them because don't vibrate and when putting off and on don't have to realign the up. Bit of a pain at times when winding window up and down. Did mark one of my windows on Prado 120.
Cheers
Charlie
