need some thoughts on a problem on my 60 series. has developed some sort of miss or something. seems to go in a cycle can be driving and it misses , go a short distance then misses . sounds like a soliniod or something sticking under the dash, has 2h deisel motor. thought it was the immobilizer but still there after replacingit yesterday

If it is a 2H engine then it will be the edic motor playing up. This can be caused by trailer wiring (don't laugh it happens), low oil pressure, dirty electrical connections or at the outside a faulty injector.

I agree with Dave
Edic motor might be trying to shut down your fuel. Could be low oil pressure, blocked fuel filters.
Go through the obvious and easiest solutions first.
The 2H are a great tough motor that takes a lot to stop it.
Any other symtoms.
Another source is on the Lcool site - some knowledgeable guys there for toyotas.

Yep had the same issue, but only when it rained!
Never quite found out the issue but checked & repaired some wiring & also tried a second hard control relay for the fuel shutoff & board assembly.
Over time it resolved itself.....or was it it stopped raining, before I sold it..... :)

As above replies indicate the most likely cause will be the EDIC motor trying to shut your fuel off. It is also possible that this incident will change depending on the load on the electrical system and could be an indication of a fault in either battery or alternator and the last time it happened to us at night ..... I removed one end of the control rod, just to get us
home under a full set of lights.
Cheers,
Wayne & Sally.
