Hi All,

Does any body know of a good diesel mechanic in Adelaide? My mechanic has taken ill and need to find someone who is reliable and conscientious. Heading to Tassie soon and want to get the old girl in tip top shape..

Thanks in advance Warren.

Alltrac on South Rd Mile End is where I'd take a Landcruiser Diesel for general maintenance and mechanical repairs.
For something specific like Injectors or pump, I'd go to Hitech Diesel Services on Churchill Rd or Adelaide Fuel Injection (?Regency Park).

Before I answer, how much would you expect a diesel GQ fuel pump repair to be? Cheers!

Cheers Warren.
I use Detrac Diesel at St Marys for anything more complicated than an oil change - they do great work & know their stuff.
I found them through this forum by asking the same question several years ago.

Hi Warren,

I use Goodyear Auto Service on Richmond road, Richmond and have done for many years.

Don't be put off by the ''goodyear'' francise type thing, it is a privately owned work shop.

The head mechanic there has serviced my 1hz landcruiser for years, he rebuilt the commodore v6 in my 4runner before that and i have never had a problem. He knows diesels well as they service a lot of the Britz vehicles and he rebuilt his own 2.8l diesel patrol.

They are honest and fair priced.

They don't reco diesel injectors or fuel pumps though, I just had my injectors done at Affordable Diesel and Turbo injection located in Wingfield. They did a good job, gained a 15% economy increase, used genuine nozzles and were cheaper than a few other prices I got.
