Surely this can't be real? Looks convincing though especially the way the back end is lifting on the the decent!

G'day, camera angle, have a look at the weeds at 37seconds, the angles are all wrong.

Partway up the

Is one of a series of videos that includes a RRS, D3, Defender, and some other Jap models - all do it except one of the Jap Utes (a new Hilux I think) that came to a nasty demise.
The slope is real but the cameraman may have made it look just a little steeper than it is - real step though.

He was extremely lucky, the pics at the start of that clip are not of the defender, would be interesting to see how he managed to get out of the position he ended up at, although he was right at the bottom so might not have been too bad, he's one very lucky bloke and his passenger, bet there was some pants in need of change after that one. !!!!!! did
well to keep it from rolling - with the Defender's arrv/dep angles he wouldn't have much trouble getting out of that

btw, excellent vid of a Disco 3 stopping halfway up and then just doing a
hill start from there. Wonder if that was factory or did he have lockers? They sure are a capable vehicle.
