I have a weight problem , so am looking to swap my steel tray for an alloy tray - can anyone suggest where in W.A ... if can't swap , then buy an alloy tray cheap ? I understand the difference is approx 200 kg ... doesn't sound much - but is the difference between 900 + 1100 kg .

Howdy Lizard
Not sure you have your " total " weight figures right for alloy v steel trays !
Can't help you with where to get a new tray in WA but when I took my alloy tray off my old Patrol it only took 2 of us to easily lift it off and while both of us are fairly strong I'm sure we can't lift 900 kg ! The reason I took the alloy tray off was to put a steel tray on because of the many advantages of having a steel tray ! Supply some more info and maybe I can be of assistance with pros and cons of alloy v steel !
Cheers

No , not saying tray weighs 900 kg ; when I'm loaded up to go away - probably have 1100 kg on back , if I had an alloy tray then would be 900 kg .... ute empty is 2740 kg over weighbridge .... steel trays approx 400kg , alloy trays approx 190 kg

If you intend carrying around 900 kg on anything but good roads the last thing you need is an alloy tray...a backward step IMHO............oldbaz.
