Cheap GPS Tracker Ad I found

Im finished tripping and have a Red Hen Gps unit attached to my Nikon camera so dont need one of these. Wish I did, mine was $300US

Just thought it may be useful for someone who hasnt got into a Spot or similar.

At $75 you cant really go wrong although it doesnt seem to have realtime tracking like the Spot.

As it doesnt seem to be realtime published tracking it wont matter. Seems you do the trip and upload it when you get home or wherever.

Plenty of people on here broadcast that they are going around Australia for the next 12 months.

Wouldnt be to hard for someone asking the right questions unobtrusively to find out where their vacant house is.

My theory is do the trip, tell no one where you are or how long you will be gone.

Unless of course like us you no longer have a home then it doesnt matter.

We do not need the TomTom. Ozi is on the VMS in the car and that will do us.

Please niote I am not anti technology. My last job (retired now) was installing some very high end stuff (not available off the shelf) for some agencies in a cooperative project all over the place.

I was happy to see the end of the stuff. Its a wonder I even have a computer now. The first one I worked on was in 1970 and you could walk inside it. No Not afraid of technology. Just dont think the expense nor stuffing around is in our best interest. When we go on trips with the club you see them up for ages copying and saving and editing and typing their blogs and emails home. We get home when we do and the kids accept that. HF is in the car for emergencies though.

I agree with you Phil, I'm only 35 but i watch people and see that they have got to have this and that, i'm happy with the crap i have. It's not the best, i don't have to "Hack It" to get it to work properly, i only hack to make something better.

My mobile is a nice little brick type phone, none of slide this or that, touch screen stuff.

My vehilces are old, youngest is 2001.

I buy stuff that lasts and look after it really well so it does.

If i can't fix it then i search the web to find out how to!!!

life is so complicated so why complicate it more????
