Am thinking of doind the border track (Vic SA border) during January on route to the SA coast.
What is this track like? Is it suitable for an offroad camper trailer?
Any other information would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jason

Jason,
It will be hot, dry, difficult to impossible with trailer and do NOT try on your own even without trailer. Not a lot of traffick out there at that time.ne cede malis

If it is over 35 degrees forget it.... If you have a trailer forget it....
There are several large sand dunes that you "WILL" get stuck on and the tracks up them are "S" bends...So that makes it impossible to back your trailers down again when you need your next attempt....The sand is deep and soft in summer heat on the dunes.....It is from similar damage to why some of the dunes are closed at the moment... You could easily manage the centre track which starts from the same campground and will get you right through to the other side "Tintanara" with campsites on the way...._____________________________________________

You do not state which direction you will be coming from, the Border Track is a north to south one way track from the Pinaroo end. In the summer the sand will be very difficult to traverse and much of the southern end of the track is overgrown. Be prepared for a few scratches to the paint. Also check that the track is open the last I heard it was closed.
