Hi - does anyone know of any nice camping spots near
Katherine, NT.....preferably a freebie? We have a 4wd and offroad camper so can get off the beaten track a bit. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Probably within 30kms of town or
the gorge - just prefer to have a bit of space....not packed in with every other tourist!

I would go west, on the Vic Hwy, have seen a few guys camping along the various spots along there....
Depends what
services you want, there is not much free stuff these days, if you dont mind it in the bush then head out that way..
Good luck

Good talking to you tonight mate. Sorry I couldn't help with the
camp spot as we were only there a week working and stayed in the caravan park. The girls were very excited when I told them the news. Julia wants to come and visit now. The hot springs are off the Victoria hwy about 5 mins from the town centre and are about 32 deg, enjoy your swim. I think the water here is about ten deg at moment. Have fun ya lucky dog.

Hi Birds
We stayed at the resort CP at
the Gorge, as it is 30 kms out of town. We went on to the Parks
camp ground at Edith Falls after that. Sometimes it is better (and cheaper in the long run) to put up with the crowds to be on
the spot at the attraction.
