sad triton
I started another thread asking if anyone had used Rentarig before as I was a bit wary paying in full up front. Over 300
views and not one recommendation has me a more than a little gunshy. Since the other thread has rolled
well off the page (why don't they bump up-only
forum I know like this?), and time is getting short, could someone give me a clue on hiring a 4wd that we can take off road, specifically to Fraser Island. I only have 10 days and I'm not spending 3 of them driving the sad Triton to QLD. Assuming it would get there.
Thanks
Phil

If the thread is active then most people will still see it. We tend to view by response time, not thread id which is the default unfortunately.

g'day Phil, if my sad as toyota hilux diesel with stuffed rear diff and rear wheel bearings and running on front shaft could get me from
newcastle to all over
moreton island then sunshinecoast and back again, at 75 kph, then surely yours can get you there unless it is totally ratcrap.
I will be doing the trip again this year hopefully in same vehicle but with new rear bearings and a few other mods.
pic's in my members section.
indestructable hilux, too right.
but it comes down to safety. if i didn't feel safe to drive it we wouldn't have gone

Most hire companies require a holding deposit(normally they imprint your card but do not process till you return. It is axactly the same as a bond on a rental house.

No issue with them wanting a holding deposit. The problem is them wanting the holding deposit, the hire fee, and the bond all paid in full, in advance. I'll try some of the other rec'd above. Thanks for your help.

Used Fraser Magic some time ago. Found them very easy to deal with and the Landy was a blast - kids loved it.
Highly recommend.
