David, drizzly rain out there I hear on the tom-toms. Rain is coming in from the west - but should not last long. The roads have all just been graded so it would be nice to keep them from being cut up - you will just have to have a day or two of rest. Cheer up.

You know me better than that- I'm not complaining at all. I'll wait til it is dry. Just hope the participants don't panic and try to get here.

David, there's been a rollover on the
Bedourie road. Hope everything will be ok.
Wim - thought you might be out there - Ian came back on Sunday morning. We've just had a couple of weeks there - had a great time camped at the ferry with Stephen L and Fiona. Got a fair bit to tell both of you as
well!

We are in
Boulia at the moment (had to get out of Diamentina NP this morning) so having local knowledge when do you think the
boulia to
birdsville road will be open again. I tried the govt websites but they are slow to react to the rain.
Also are the roads south to
Innamincka closed as
well?
We appeciate any info supplied.
Cheers Hunjy

Hunjy, your best bet is to wander into the
Boulia Police Station - they should be able to phone through to
Bedourie station and ask them - that is the simplest way for you to find out. Haven't heard about the roads down
Innamincka way - again, ask at the
Police Station - they will talk to
Bedourie and
Birdsville and Neil McShane OIC
Birdsville will know.
Sorry you had to leave Diamantina NP so suddenly - one of our favourite
places - muddy when wet though!
Safe travels.

We left Diamantina NP this morning and hwaded for
BOulia, road was becoming slippery in
places. On arrival in
Boulia we heard that Diamantina NP has been closed and remaining visitors have been escorted out of the park.
we were going to head up to
Camooweal via Urandangi, however weather in the region we now see us go via Mt Isa....
cheers, The Landy

News this morning is
Windorah to
Birdsville will be closed for a few days yet, as will
Bedourie. The
Birdsville track is open but no trailers or caravans allowed on the punt so cars and 4wd vehicles only.

Spoke the copper at
Boulia this morning and he said they would
check the
Boulia-
Bedourie road out on Friday morning and then make a decision if it will open or not.
