Hi, was wondering if anyone could give me any ideas for cheap accom on the sunshine coast. Would be needing accom for 4 adult and 4 kids for 2 nights. Just a quick get away to watch a friend participate in an event and don't want to have to worry about the camping gear. The cheaper the better but don't want to go as far as a backpackers.

Nat,
If you are a member of BIG 4 or Top Tourist Parks, their cabins can work out to be quite reasonably priced with their discount.
For what its worth.

It is often much cheaper to contact the local real estate agents and see if they have short time accommodation. When I last stayed at the Holiday Hub in Pambula, the bloke next door was looking after some ankle biters. He was telling me their parents had rented a cottage up on the
hill next door for half the price of a cabin in the park.

Thanks Guys, now off to the web browser for a bit of research. Has anyone stayed at
Lake Cootharaba. Even though I don't want to get the camping gear out, not sure I could cope with somewhere on the main streets. Tournament is at Noosa and a 30 minute drive to the venue would be fine.

A 30 min drive on the Sunshine Coast can frequently turn into something else if the traffic turns nasty.
Better to be closer and be able to walk if necessary.
Just an ex residents view.
