Gday jules, i stop there when i head to towoomba to visit family, it is a great half way stop and i usually set up in the next camp site along from where the toilets are on the through road South end. But there are probably heaps more areas, this one is usually quiet as everybody wants to be near the can. Haven't stayed there to explore only as a stopover.
Word of caution - be carefull driving in as the place is chock o block full of roos and you will usually come across groups of 30 - 40 of more all over the roads on the way in. The national parks guys have some serious front bars on their cruiser utes and they don't slow down for much !!! Cheers Brad..Life is short- but there's always time for a yarda.

The following National Parks and Wildlife site may help.

There is a great camp ground on the Coonabarabran side of the Bungles.

The warrumbungles Holiday camp

Phone 02 6842 3400. We stayed there in 2001 and they were doing a bit of work on it but it was clean and abit less crowded than the NPWS Site.
