I just spoke to Kaymar and they informed me that there are different centre wheel mounts to suit the various types of wheel. I run normal 16 x 8 Toyota alloys (not 40th anniversary) and have a factory 16x8 steel spare. I asked whether the alloy mount would work with both the steel and alloy wheels but the person I was speaking with was unable to confirm whether it'd work.
Is anyone else using one of these mounts with alloy & steel wheels?

I have a Kaymar spare wheel carrier on my 100ser and when I bought it the guy asked if I had steel or alloys. I said why.
He said cos the mounts are different for each type and one doesnt fit the other.
You could ring TJM out west in
Brisbane
Thats where I got it from.

I used to have a Kaymar over the bumper wheel carrier. Fitted to my first 80 series with 16 inch steel wheels and then fitted to my current 40th anniversary edition.
1. Used mag wheel lock nuts.
2. Have the Kaymar high lift jack mount. Had it between the wheel and base of the wheel carrier.
3. Made up an HF mount from 8mm aluminium angle I had around & secured it to the vehicle side of the wheel.
Cost - nothing.
Benifits:
No need to remove the HF antenna when removing the wheel.
Can still carry my high lift, which I do use!
HF antenna afforded greater protection.
No RF related issues.
Works with any wheel.
HF Antenna mount

I'd really like to get it in behind the tyre but I have very little room between the tyre and tailgate - I could move it forward but I like it sitting tight against the arm to stop it vibrating the mount to death. Maybe I should look in to sandwiching something between the tyre and arm, could get enough room to put in the 9350.

Warning I had my 9350 in where the work light usually goes I made up a steel bracket and mounted it as close to the tyre as possible.
Due to the height of my garage door it was fairly low down and found out later that on bumpy roads it hit against top tail
gate and ripped the paint right back to the metal
One way to space the tyre out is to get some rubber blocks and glue them to the bottom arm. Have done that and they are still there 60,000k later.
Someone can have the bracket for the aerial if they want it.
Look in my profile I think there are some pics of the mount etc there.
I also have one that fits on the R/h corner in
the gap between the body and the lower taildoor Similar to the ones sold by Maquarie Communications.
Have sold the radio so no further use.

On our kaymar rear carrier we have had steel and alloys. Just put on longer studs with the same thread as wheel nut.
