Yes you can get a Van in. Some nice sites close to the swiming hole. The
ranger comes around to collect fees.
Not the nicest of
camping spots, plenty of dirt, and it can get full real quick.

Which direction do you intend going to
Millstream?
From
Tom Price the road is ungraded and as you get off of the
Pilbara Iron road it is very corrugated - from
Karratha there is now 100klms of sealed road that goes to the
Python Pool turn off, from there it is gravel but less corrugated until you get close to the
Millstream turn-off and then it is very bad. Not sure you would want to attempt it with an on-road van.
cheers

Hi Duane, it can get quite crowded out there- especially now that the road from
Karratha is bitumenised. I would suggest arriving early to secure a spot. We made the mistake of arriving late one friday night and got told by those already there to turn back to
Karratha. We drove around in the dark and eventually found a 'scrapeout' in the spinifex to
camp for the night.Cheers, doc.

Do not be put off by all the bad reports about road conditions , no room , etc....we have a Falcon wagon towing a dual axle van....yes the roads can be a bit rough but we had no trouble ,( just drive to the conditions prevailing)....despite being told by the Roebourne
information centre that we would not be able to take the van there...the roads are continually being graded so it is a bit of the luck of the draw (we got a just graded road going out)....there were plenty of spaces at
Millstream main
camping ground when we got there at 10.30am and the facilities there are very, very good...the Crossing Pool
camp ground is very small and fills quickly...not suitable for our 17ft van... and
Millstream is a very pretty and interesting place...cheers
