Can anyone advise if it's comfortable taking a 1.6 tonne camper trailer into Eddie's camp at Elim Beach?

We were up there a couple of weeks back. The Battle Camp Rd access is undergoing a lot of upgrade but is all OK, just watch out for the road works - there's plenty going on & they'll talk you through on Chnl 40.

The road out to Elim from Hope Vale is all OK. Just as you arrive at the camp there's a about 100m of soft sand but the rest is OK. I didn't deflate but then I wasn't pulling a 1.6tn house.

Camp facilities are basic but it's a pretty spot, especially if you can get a spot at the beach front. I don't think there's any camping up towards Cape Flattery but the beach drive is good at the low tides.

Enjoy.
I sometimes question my sanity . . . . and then it answers back.

We were there in April when it was still raining.

No problems getting to the camp towing boat trailers but check out the final hill down into the camping area. Just take it easy ...

Paul - As stated above it is no issue - enjoy your stay - Eddie is a nice bloke, great day drives over to the Capes (North & South Bedford) - When the wind is down you can catch quality fish from the rocks around South Bedford. Also great beach combing. Good fishing in the bay but you will need a tinny.

Hi Paul

Was out there a few days ago. Two 20 footers (Kedron & bushtracker) were there so know problems towing in there. Bit of a drop in at the end but we had no probems coming out towing jayco of similar weight.

The only trouble we had was it was wet when we came in and the road had chopped up but it had dried out and was good on the way out.

The spot is magnificent. Go there. Eddie set us up right on the water and we are gong back!!!

Cheers
