Hi, Was wondering if anyone had replaced the front bucket seats with a bench in a hilux, have a 2000 model and would like to have that extra
seat for emergencies. I realise the centre consol will have to go, but this is not prob.
Cheers

If you change the buckets to a bench
seat you are changing the ADR.
If you change the
seat configuration of the vehicle you will need to get a engineers certicate and the a compliance plate!!! Also too this willalso mean a increase in insurance.
An engineers certificate in NSW is around 300 - 500 dollars.
As far as i know, there has being no 6 seater hilux's available due to airbag instalation in vehicles.
ADR changes in QLD
I hope this helps.

I realise that I will have to get it certified. My Lux has no air bags, so that will be one less obstical. I was wondering how the 3/4
seat from a single cab would go, whether the "anchor points" will fit or whether I will have to go and get brackets specifically engineered. Was just hoping one of you very knowledgable fellas would say "yeah, this is what I did" and I could follow your lead.

i think they are different from the top of my head, and if you do put a three quarter in and have to drill holes to do it make sure you put a plate around it roughly 4 inches big.
As a double
check have you rung the RTA like guys to ask, they are always full of usefull information.
you'll also have to get someone to put in the centre
seat belt as
well!!!
Good luck, plenty of research there!!!!
You know what queensland coppers are like!!!!!
Me personally, I don't have a high regard for Queensland Police. But i will give the GOOD coppers there due and they have a tough job in doing it.My reasons are personal.
