Hi all
We're doing a couple of weeks drifting around and thought we might
check out the
Menindee area.
Has any one bin out there? Watcha think?

Terrific spot,
camp out near the lakes if you are set up for it, plenty of great spots to
camp.
Also a short trip to
Broken Hill and
Silverton area.
If the nights are clear just get out and look up at the sky and that will be enough reason to be there.

Dont forget t do
Kinchega NP and a walk through
the woolshed. We stayed in the shearers quarters a couple of years ago and were the only people there, nice open fire in the mess, comfortable beds and hot showers. Great spot

Just got back. We walked out of a lakeside caravan park after a bit of a disappointing experience. The township and "sunset strip" looks very very run down, I guess after years of no water. The other waterski lake (forget name) looks nice with a good van park.
Menindee lake itself looks magnificent.

just came back from there after driving down the
Darling River Run.
Top
camp spot right next to the water near Burk & Wills
campsite.
The locals commented that this is the first time in 10 years that the lakes are so full!

We stayed at one of the river spots in Kinchegam it was good, lol I took my bike and pedalled along to the nearest dunny. Didn't see anyone else camping along there at the time either (we were only on a long weekender type trip from
Cobar at the time).
I think at that particular time of year there was quite a few flies and we had a problem during the night with foraging ants searching in our bed, luckily they didn't seem to be bitey ones even though they were big!
