I have just purchased a second hand Big Haul 2500kg hand winch. There are no spare shear pins included.
Does anyone know where you purchase spare pins?

Len, not meaning to be rude, but do you know where the pins are supposed to be located? I have a Big Haul and before getting it I had read they were in the 'handle', and thought they were in the big lever handle. But no, they are in the little carry handle of main Big Haul unit. So I'm just wondering if you made the same mistake I did. Cheers

hi Len

try "piranha off road products "i just googled big haul and they came up as sales for parts hope this helps.
When i was a rigger we used this kind of winch all the time and the shear pin was a two min job to replace.

Len,

As suggested, have you checked the actual carry handle of the winch? (Remove the black cap on the end) I too bought a 2nd hand Big Haul, read the instructions which said the shear pins were in the handle, checked the extendable handle, no shear pins.

So, I found a place in Clayton, I think it was, bought some pins and when I got home, wondered what the rattling noise was in the winch. Lo and behold, I found shear pins in the winch handle. Now I have heaps.

I am still looking. If I find the place I got the pins from, I will post the details

Cheers

Dave

Len,

It was bugging me, but I think I found it. I am almost certain this is the place I went to. Beaver Brands in Springvale. Clayton - Springvale....near enough !!! From memory, Beaver either make or import? the Big Haul hand winch. Worth a phone call or email anyway.
