For those wanting to visit Kingfisher Camp on the Nicholson River I certainly commend it to you and for those who enjoy the tranquility of the ‘outback’ this is a great place to find it. And you'll be made most welcome by Janelle and Dennis!!

We just spent the past 3 days there, travelling up from Adel’s Grove (Lawn Hill).

The road in from the south requires a couple of creek crossings, the larger being Elizabeth Creek, but it presents little problem. The road out to Doomadgee is fine.

For those wanting a ‘read’ you can find more information on Kingfisher, and our trip to ‘Outback Queensland and the Gulf Savannah’ in my blog….The Landy - On Tour in Outback Queensland & The Gulf Savannah

Not Fair.....
Our housesitter / dogsitter pulled the pin (his brother is getting married.... how inconsiderate of his brother... lol...) so we can't go on our QLD / Gulf /Savannah trip... bummer.
The do say jealousy is a curse.... lol...
Just been to Rudall River and karinjini, so can't complain tooooo much!

Hi Landy,

Yes fantastic spot we came up through from Lawn Hill to Kingfisher up to the Savannah Way, The road had only just opened and the camping area only had a couple of campers so it was fantastic.

Some pictures of our Jayco Expanda crossing the rivers.

Landy,
You mention in your blog, wondering about the "cross on the hill" on the track from Adels to KFC.
It was put there by Sebastio Maio, during his time at Lawn Hill Station - in memory of his parents. There is a plaque and some memorabilia on top, at the base of the cross. I posted a picture of this on the Caravanners Forum, Around the Campfire section, in the Where is this? thread, if you want to see it.
