Hi,

I just installed the beaudesert 3'' system on my Nissan Patrol 4.2 TDi, I should have installed this seven years ago what a difference this has made the only problem I had was the written instruction sheet from Beaudesert how to install the system did not explain the mounting brackets setup so I have pasted a link below with pictures as to how the mounting brackets are set up on My Nissan Patrol. I hope this helps anyone else installing this system.

Cheers Macca

Hi Macca,
The link isn't working. Bugger.
I know mine vehicle is a Yota, but same size motor & Turbo.
Installed a 3" on the 80 early last year, made a huge difference. Mine was from Scotts Rods. off eBay.
The old girl doesn't work as had towing the Swan and when 4Wdriving it has a lot more down low grunt. Better fuel economy as well.
Just under 600 bucks, money well spent I reckon.
Cheers

Andrew,

the Blue Fin is a gr8 fishing platform, the Yammie would push her along nicely too :-)

Those roasts all look really fantastic, will have to look into a Cobb now

Yep, put Beaudesert 2.75" system on the pajero, (hey, it is only a 2.8l motor), and noticed the difference. Turbo spools up about 200 rpm earlier, slightly more power and the EGT generally reads lower by maybe 20 degrees. Turned the fuel up slightly and still getting slightly better economy with more power.

Pluses all round, and it sounds good too. :o)

Hi Macca,

All you need to now is take your Patrol to a reputable diesel tuner, with a dyno & adjust the timing, take the boost up to 12+psi and a touch more fuel and the difference will be amazing.

Cheers Steve.

Hi Ozymacca,

What's the noise level like with the BD exh?
Do you notice any droning inside the car?

Cheers,
Geoff

Ozymacca, I have noticed a slight, albeit very slight, droning sound but quite bearable. What I have noticed is an increased heat level through the floor on the passenger side . Anybody else noticed this ??

Yeah, I have guys.
Especially on a freeway, sitting on 110kph.
But i don't feel any heat coming through on the 80. It runs under the drivers side and I don't feel any abnormal temp change. Might be different in a Patrol down the passenger side.

Mine has a water cooled garret turbo on a high mount denco manifold. I have wrapped the dump pipe with some heat shield which has solved that problem. As for the droning I fitted a small 3" straight thru muffler which Beaudesert could not supply at the time. It just takes the edge off and you mostly hear turbo whistle. If you have a Patrol ute you don't have the droning problem.

Hi Geoff,

The patrol is actually very quiet no droning problem. The exhaust system has a 3'' straight through muffler. I expected it to be louder.

Full credit to Beaudesert Exhausts, I raised the issue of heat through the floor with TJM Bundaberg , who installed the system. TJM sent a set of photos to Beaudesert who could not see any irregularities. TJM installed further heat shield insulation under passenger side and problem is nowhere near as noticable, if at all. BUT Beaudesrt Exhausts, to their credit, also extended an invitation to call in there and have unit personally inspected if I still felt there was a problem. Doubly impressed with good service/s.
