Has anyone tried the new Inmarsat IsatPhone pro that was released July 1 yet?
Looks promising, List Price $699," shoud be available for $500 to $600" Call rates of around $1 per minute. ( all USD)
Phone is IP54 rated for dust and splash
Colour screen
Text, email
BLUETOOTH
Speakerphone
predictive text
near global coverage ( inc all of Australia)
Looks good on Paper and should shake up the other three. Only problem I can see is that it uses geosynchronous sats ( long voice delay)
IsatPhone

I use the old Inmarsat Thrane & Thrane 3066 on the mini-m service , same satellites as the Isat phone uses, There is no noticable voice delay, never any dropouts, Excellent service, dont know why its not more popular, Its just like calling from a house phone, In fact these are used as fax / phones & payphone
services in remote locations.
