Hi All,

As this will be one of my last posts as a member (Unless I have a drastic change of heart), I thought I would upload a few pics from the Lake Eyre Yacht Club's Regatta held on Lake Killamperpunna.

I would also like to take this oppurtunity to say farewell to this site as a member but will still lurk every now and then.

I will start by loading a few pics of the Journey there and back then the Marree Camel Cup and finally the Regatta.

Goodbye my EO friends and I really hope we can meet up somewhere in this big beautiful country :)

PS. if the modsquad want to delete it, that is fine. I am not going to put it in the blogs.

Hi exfilm, first thanks so much for sharing your photography with us, I have always enjoyed your very professional photos over the years.

Secondly I will be sorry to see you leave the forum, you have had a lot of input on here. I hope you change your mind. If not safe travels where ever you go.

Geez the rate at which the more seasoned members are leaving it won't be long and I will be one of the older members and I haven't been on here for that long. LOL

Cheers

Thanks,
I am not leaving the forum, Just not getting as much out of it anymore and cannot justify the membership fees. Will still lurk every now and then and may post but as a politician says "I am moving forward". I too have gained much info from this site, and will continue to gather info but I feel the site is getting left behind and is not prepared to unlock it's potential.
cheers

What a great turnout for the regatta, some dedicated saloirs there. Having been to Lake Eyre via the Warburton river I can confirm what a great experience it is boating in the desert.
Your contribution to this site will leave yet another hole. Will look out for your great photograhpy elsewhere on the net.
Cheers Craig..........

Thanks Craig,
All is good, will still lurk every now and then. My pics are out there on the web and can now be officailly called award winning after the AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards held in June. A few Judges seemed to think that 2 images I entered into the Sport Category were worthy of Silver Awards. Not bad considering there was only 13 awarded. But to me only 2 was not good enough.
See ya out there somewhere
Cheers

Still remember the Harbour bridge shots you put up a few year ago, It got my interest up in Photography and I purchased my first digital camera a D90 partly because of your ability to capture things on film that most of us glance at daily or look through with out seeing if that makes sense.
I still can't take pictures for the life of me but I won't stop trying :-)

Thanks Michael

Thanks Michael,
Yep one of those Harbour Bridge pics, I am proud to say has won me a few awards around the world now.
Great to here you lashed out and got a D90 I have always said Nikon is the best. Even when they were in a rut. They have overtaken the other mob again. To tell you the truth if I was to purchase a camera from scratch after listening to the Canon's CEO and Nikon USA CEO give a speach at the Winter Olympics Welcome Photographers Party. I would choose Canon. Nikons speach was woefull. But I do love my Nikon's and would never part with any of the 14 that I have :)
I am always happy to go off for a day or weekend to give photo tips.
Hope to see you out there one day.
Cheers

Peter,
We don't typically tolerate posts by outgoing Members posting about their Membership status or attempts to justify whey they choose not to renew so we will lock your post to avoid further discussion on this matter but leaving it visible so that you can share your photos. Perhaps modsquad will review this in the morning.
