Monday week ago I drove up to Mildura to a funeral and then came straight back home again. Did over1000km. Just as I arrived home the light came up to tell me it had switched to the second tank. That means it did about 9.3 L/100km. Did another 620 km driving in and out of Geelong.around the farm and pulling a heavy tandem trailer to Colac and back again ( 110 km ). So all up I did 1620 km wich gives me 11.1 L/100km. It looks like the economy is improving . It's a great touring vehicle ,very comfortable and the cruise control is great, just set it at 100 or 110 km/hr and enjoy the ride. I wonder if I had kept driving it on that Monday, whether I would have got over 1800 km ?? Has any one out ther done this yet.

Very impressive fuel range figures, its a pity Nissan with the Patrol could not have put bigger tanks in from standard. It must make weekend trips so much cheaper when you don't have to top up just to get home.

Yes it does make trips a lot cheaper. Your worried about the Nissans fuel range. I had a TD Hilux before the Prado and its range was between 460 to 560 kms so as you can imagine I was always taking 3 to 6 jerry cans with me on long trips. I used to envy you Nissan and Cruiser drivers with your bigger tanks.

Thanks Farmer. I have a 2002 Mercedes ML270CDi and am regularly getting between 7.8 L/100KM (country) & 9.0 L/100Km (city). With an 83 litre tank I have regularly got 1000km / tank full on country trips which I think is bloody marvellous after my pertol guzzling Land Cruiser. Have not done any serious towing yet though but would like to hear from other ML turbo diesel owners on this.

I got around 1500-1600 / tank.

I have done 19000 in mine.

I also now (since 3000km) ran 285/75/16's and the economy hasn't changed much.

The New ARB bar is great for the Prado, Best New Prado bar yet :)

I get around 1600 city from mine and have noticed no change on country trips (although only been 600km/trip so plenty of city k's came out of the tanks too).

Do post a follow-up on how the D-Tronic gismo works out, how will that affect the warranty or is it a case of plugging the original electronics back in for trips back to Toyota.

Cheers
