You would find camping near Big Red a bit tight at the moment with water everywhere. Little red is the same dune closer to Birdsville. My advice is travel to Eyre Creek then take the northern bypass all the way past Ruwolts Bore then over the dune beside the big waterhole and camp there on the northern end of the bypass. There are some great spots and right on a beautiful waterhole. The flowers are everywhere.

The water near Big Red will be there for a while yet. The Eyre Creek bypass will not be in use in sept. Since the bypass in on private property you would have to ask the owners for permission to camp there once it is not in use.

The sand dune near Windora from memory is on private property owned by Mr Kidd i think. He is a very well known old chap in those parts. I towed him out of a bog while our rally cars were going over. Fantastic spot.
