Howdy all, will be heading down to Port Smith this weekend to meet some friends and just wanna pick the brains of those in the know.

Whats the golf course like?

Many places to fish from without a boat?

Do they hire boats?

Will only be a fishing/golfing trip, just catching up with a mate and family. Only there 2 nights, but surely we should be able to catch a feed from the beach in that time.

Any advice would be great. Midgies and mozzies are fine, lived in the Kimberley our entire lives so were used to them.

Thanks

Port Smith is a fantatic spot we were there April this year had a blast .There is good fishing to be had in the Lagoon and outside but with your time frame you will be lucky depending on the tides .You are going to miss the fish and chip night on the thursday if rob is running them still iam sure he is.Its a great nights entertainment and a good feed 5 bucks a head and proceeds go to the RFDS great stuff . Half ya luck wish i was going to ,enjoy the place iam sure you will safe travels.

Hi Muntoo, There is a 4x4 track to the beach which brings you to the north side of the entrance to the lagoon. Early morning fishing with lures should get you some good results and fun off the surf. Some parts of the track are very narrow and will scratch your 4by. Will also seem like you are never going to get to the beach. Ask the lady at the book in to the park for directions. It is worth the effort to get to this spot.
