G`day Dave & Stir Kev,
This is a true story so I don`t think it will get Moderated.

Years ago I arrived on the Murray and set up camp, later I realized I had left my fishing gear home, anyway I ended up un-threading about ten meters of wool from around the bottom of my jumper and with a bit of No 8 wire from the cocky`s fence for a hook I made a hand line.
I was stumped for some bait until my mate returned to camp with a cod about the size of the one above in this post.
He said he was going to throw it back because it was a bit too small, so I put it on the hook I had made and threw the now baited hand line in.
Anyway the rest is history.
The result is pictured in the photo below near my profile link.

No Bull,

Scrubby.

Kev, in the words of the late and great Slim Dusty, "The only time a fisherman tells the truth is when he calls another a liar" :-)))))

Scrubby, I'm ROTFLMAO....good to share that (true?) story with us mate.

While on the subject, a mate sent me this pic taken in Afghanistan.

If that was the case then if he caught one of similar size 12 months ago then it would have emptied the dam LOL

What a superb fish, good to see he released it to give some other angler the thrill of a lifetime. My young bloke got one out of a river 105cm, when he was only 11, it was released also to eat more carp.
