Nigel,
Go to Google and type in
Malcolm Douglas videos. I found a German site which you can translate. Have a look around and you might find something.

Hi craig,
I have been in Oz for 35 years. On my first visit back to RSA I could not utter as word but after a few Cane and Cokes things started to loosen up. I have recently been into a Genealogy website in Afrikaans and that has got me talking and writing again and I have actually met quite a few newer immigrants through the my research and we have had a good natter. I was back in RSA last in 2000 and had a great time catching up with school mates and others. By the second week I can converse fluently.( as a result of lots of Cane and Coke:-))) ).
Cheers,
Willem

In the White Pages there's a M & V Douglas listed at
Cable Beach Broome. Phone number is 08 9193 7824. Sounds like it might be the man you seek.
