Hi all, I'm trying to get some information/history on Afghan
camp situated just north of the Tableland track, for our trip through the Tableland track next year, I've looked through the Archives on this site and Googled the place and the Traine river and have had no real luck in turning anything up. Does anyone on this site have anything to point me in the right direction, cheers, Kanga.

If you do not get any response from anyone else you could try Cathie Clement.
She is an expert on the history of the
Kimberley area.

Hi Kanga, last time I checked (with Bedford Downs mid last year) I was told the track wasn't navigable between BD and the Hwy. Have things changed please?
Cheers.

Hi
John, I spoke to Sterling at BD this morning regarding our trip through there this time next year, he said that it should be fine, historically this late after the wet the track is passable. He didn't mention anything about it being closed at the moment though. We will be talking to him again closer to the time of our travel through there to
check again as we will be coming through from the Mornington end. Cheers, Kanga.

Thanks Kanga, yes, should have said that the lady I spoke to had also said that the track might be improved prior to the 2009 mustering later that year.
At any rate I'd love some
feedback after you've been thru later as this track is on my top 10.
Cheers.

No worries
John, I keep thinking about doing some
Blogs of our trips, but as soon as we get
home I am planning the next one, so I'll see how we go. Happy trails, Kanga.
