Gday...
After a thunder storm that raged all night and hasn't stopped raining yet we have had 45mm to 9am and a further 10mm to 12noon.
All the roads out of
White Cliffs were closed two days ago due to overnight rain and the only road that remained open was the sealed road south to
Wilcannia.
Today, even the sealed road south out of town has been cut in three
places by floodwaters and the locals do not know when it may be open if the rain keeps drizzling down as it is.
A number of caravaners who packed up and left this morning are either stranded just south of town, or have come back to spend another day or two in friendly
White Cliffs.
Lucky we don't have a timetable to adhere to - love this nomad lifestyle - as long as the tucker and wine lasts ! !
Cheers
Julie & John

Hi John and Julie
All I can say is batten down the hatches, as there is more heavy rain on its way. We should be leaving for the Simpson next Wednesday, but will be heading west and doing the Anne Beadell to kill a couple of weeks before trying to get over the Simpson. I have many station people friends all over the place and it has been very wet everywhere.
Etadunna Station had 3.5mm of rain yesterday and another 6mm of rain last night, yet Cowarie a little distance up the
Birdsville Track had 2" rain. Other station friends north west of
Broken Hill were telling me this morning that a helicopter has been sent out to rescue some people stranded north of
Wilcannia who have been bogged for some time and can not get out.
The weather channel has a very large rain band coming down through the northern parts of SA and into Queensland and NSW.
Keep Dry and all the Best.
Cheers
Stephen

Hi all
Just be wary over the coming weeks with the westerly flowing rivers. The NSW SES has upgraded
their warnings.
Keep a watch on the RTA site for road information on the rivers leading into the Barwon Darling system.
Take care with flood waters

G'day Julie & John.
It's Friday, and every Friday night the shop/cafe across from the pub has a dinner night, where all the locals come out of their diggings for a night of food, fun and laughter. Don't miss it. We had a ball mixing with the locals, and the food ain't bad either.
Fred.
