Thanks for the info, after looking around and lots of questions, this telly has got to be the way to go.There is also a model that has USB so that you can limit what you have to carry.

Hi
Our family have 3 Kogan tv's in caravans and houseboats, 2 x 16" HD LCD with dvd and a 22" HD LCD with dvd. We are all happy with them. Only problem we had, was one 240v -12v power supply failed after about 6 mths, but they replaced it promptly.
Cheers
Neil

Have had a TEAC purchased from WOW built in tuner and dvd player. Taken it over some dirt and corrugated roads still works fine

If you are taking a computer (laptop), have you considered getting a TV tuner for it as an alternative?

I can't recommend any brand but they would be available at Dick Smith, ALdi on special sometimes, JB Hi Fi, etc. Mine is only for digital and I am not sure if you can purchase one for Analog as well as digital. I am not sure of the analog/digital cover in outback Australia either.
I have one and it works well on the computer by plugging into the USB port. I have a pair of rabbits ears and an antennae supplied with the one I purchased. I also have a 'decent anteanae' which I carry in my camper trailer.
Cheers Geoff.
