I know now why in Queensland they spell beer like this XXXX, I did the trip up the mountain to Paluma just out of
Townsville where they say take a walk in the clouds, this must refer to the road workers have a look at
sign on the way up the mountain Image Could Not Be Found

Yep!!! I have been told by a good authority the reason for the way signs have been placed
well back from the corners.
In summer they are moved back close to the corners for all us Queenslanders, then in winter they are moved back
well away from the corners for the southerners.
When I asked why, the learned person said. " it's because the southerners are so slow, by the time they react they have gone over the side."
