I may be able to settle the age old argument of which is better. Blue Tongue or Big Red.

I have just been through the very confusing process of deciding which pump to buy and eventually sent several emails to Thomas Pumps. These are the results.

Blue Tongue IV
Model Number 415cdc42/12-194
CFM @ 50 PSI .68
Volume @ 50 PSI 19.26 Litres

Big Red Plus ( or Mk 3)
Model Number 305cdc45/12-194
CFM @ 50 PSI .73
Volume @ 50 PSI 20.67 Litres

Although it is slightly less powerful, I chose the Blue Tongue because it comes with the hose included and it is fan cooled. I was able to get a better price for it also.

I hope this info is useful to anyone preparing to purchase a compressor

Ays, the fan sounds like a great addition. I went for a ARB compressor because you can buy any part, its cheaper than most of em, easy to dissassemble i.e. blow out air filter/clean out air tank. Ive been using for front air locker & can hold pressure in system for 2 weeks. No problems in 5 years!
