Howdy all.... We've been traveling for 6 weeks now, at present we're in Birdsville, I burnt the alternator out on the Patrol with a hefty combination of mud, mud, water & mud!! LOL.... So we've been here since Friday morning waiting for a new one to come in. We should be outta here tomorrow, as the truck is nearly ready now. Towed our Tvan across the desert, wouldn't dare tow a lesser trailer personally, but would happily take the Tvan again.
We've had some really good times! Met some interesting people as well, including some EO members, Mark (Geelong) Warri (NSW) and spent an evening in the Clayton Station "spa" with Roachies mates the Hunts and the Schmidts... they told a couple of stories about you Roachie.... sad to hear you won't take the ChevNissan off road anymore! ;-))

A great trip so far, we've been to Nindigully, Cunnamulla, Noccundra, Nappa Merrie, Innamincka, Cameron Cnr, Monte Collina Bore, Lyndhurst, Clayton Station, William Creek, Muloorina Station, Coober Pedy, Stuart Well, Alice Springs, Glen Helen Gorge, Kings Canyon & Kings Creek Station, Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Lamberts Centre of Australia, Mt Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Purnie Bore, 5 nights across the Simpson Desert, and now in Birdsville! Whew! Been a blast!!!

Cheers

Brian

Having a great time is what holidays are about.

Rather provocative statement regarding the van mate. Sure many would disagree.

Hope the rest of the holiday is just as good if not better.

BTW - you realise that this sort of post gives those of us stuck in an office the 'you know whats' - such posts should be banned from the forum :-)

Thanks Moose,
Nah, nothing provocative in that mate, if anybody disagrees, good on 'em! It's not set in stone, just that the Tvan, in MY opinion, is the best! A couple of people I know say the Ultimate is the best, I can't disagree with that either.... LOL.... What we each have is good!

At the moment we're in Quilpie, I have buggered a set of brake pads... (don't ask!!! LOL) should be home on the weekend. It's all been a great adventure! Even the breakdowns :-))

Cheers

Tell you Brian, there is no excuse for not upgrading to an Ultimate...you'll get some money back on your Tvan.LOL

Good to meet you at Clayton and good to here you had a good trip so far.

I might be wrong but I heard a rumor Roachie had bought a Hilux....at least he can take it of road.....well maybe!......I think they did say it was a 4x4.

We are off with the Hunts again in a few weeks over to the west coast for another advanture.

Well, I must say that the Ultimate is the only other trailer I would attempt a crossing with! Not saying they're the ONLY ones to try with, just the only one I'D do it with. Dunno if I said it that night at Clayton, but the ONLY thing that swayed me to Tvan, is the slide out kitchen, We have stopped for lunch SO many times on this trip, and had the coffee on within a couple of minutes of stopping.

Have a good trip, say g'day to the Hunts from us!

Cheers

Brian
