Hi Stan,
Im not sure where to put the meter as with
mine i guage the oil changes by the amount of fuel i put through it, ie, every two tanks change the oil...
My ef1000is has now done 9000hrs... I didnt run it flat out as often as required so the exhaust system chocked up with carbon after the first 6000hrs...
I also found running penrite30 far better than yamalube and valveline...
Well done on your purchase, they are a much fresher design than the common honda..

I just fitted an hour meter to ours. It's one of those Briggs & Stratton ones with a wire that wraps around the spark plug wire, and another to earth.
I fixed the meter to the end of the generator where the power points are, and snaked the wires up thought the vents at the top left hand side of that end. No holes drilled - looks neat.
regards
John

Pardon my ignorance but where did you run your earth wire to?
