If you are heading
Longreach way and looking for some light but educating entertainment, could I suggest spending $9 (concessional) at the Rusty Frame Show at the
showgrounds. An hour and a half of working dog displays and training, whip cracking demos and an informative snake handler followed by a sausage sizzle if you want it. Great value for money. Shows at 1.00 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily.
(No vested interest just an impressed visitor)

Barry,
I agree it was a great show. Also in
Longreach I would recommend the Gallop through the bush, with the (Cobb & Co type) coach and 4 horses. It wasn't cheap, but I don't know anywhere else that does this.
Cheers,
Bill

I agree, we were at
Longreach in early June, the Cobb & Co coach ride was great, we first had the Smoko they provided then went on the coach ride, when we arrived back at the stables we went inside the mini Picture Theatre with the canvas seats and they handed out Brown Paper Bags of Popcorn, and then watched Smiley Gets A Gun, it was a Hoot,
well worth the price.

We were also at
Longreach and did the coach ride, Great fun and full of talk and history. We were also there on the 2nd day of the live show, which was very enjoyable, the owner and family are putting on a great show and are really good horsepeople. I was particularly impressed with him working an entire (stallion) at
liberty, and though they were new to "show business' were really putting in a great "aussie, get up and go". Look forward to getting back there again and showing the grandchildren this part of Australia.
