Water Tanks

I believe that this question has been asked before but does anybody recommend a method of chemically cleaning water tanks on a caravan?

Milton for washing out baby bottles. The instructions and mixing ratios are on the label.

Cheers.

Yep milton works well

I follow the instructions to dilute then take the camper trailer for a 10 min drive get home wait 10 then empty and then flush with 1/2 a tank ie go for a 2min drive to slosh it around then empty and fill up for a trip.

g'day Ray,
My father bought an old campervan ,and the water tank had the smell of a strong cleaning product in the tank and when he flushed it out , it was still there , he then found a product at the local camping store called Tank Clean, there was enough in the container to clean it 3 times ,but he only bothered to do it twice ,because he was very happy with the job it had done.I hope this helps.
Cheers John.

I have used ordinary bi-carb soda you can buy from any supermarket. It is cheap and effect.

I would also agree with the milton baby bottle wash.

The stuff from a caravan shop called tank clean works but is much more expensive and if it really smells you will have to use lots.
