Gday...
Stayed last night in the Brewarrina Caravan Park (NSW). It is not in Camps 5 or the other usual guides. However, we would recommend it.
$20/night for 2 adults power site - stay 3 nights and get the 3rd night free. Amenities block is fairly new and very clean. Washing Machine ($ fee) no dryer but clothes lines.
You pay for the site and get the amenities key from the Information Centre in the main street (Bathurst Street).
Brewarrina is a nice place for a day or two for rest and to see the local sights.
Cheers

Might be nice if you could post a report to the Badgers Guide, and so assist other travellers looking for somewhere nice to stay.

Here's the link

I often go to Brewarrina and did not even now they had a caravan park.
How does it compare with the one at Wilcannia?

We also stayed in this Caravan Park 10 days ago...sent a letter of complaint to the Council whilst there. No keys were left in town - several power poles were not operational - laundry was out of action - ran out of hot water by 5pm. Council did reply & ack that things need fixing. They are looking to contract out the management...something needs to be done as it has potential. They are refunding my $20. Hopefully it will improve quickly.

Gday...
Can understand your experience. The lady at the Info Centre did say that 2 of the power outlets were not workiing, but to choose whatever site we liked where the power did work.
The laundry was OK when we were there and hot water seemed not a problem. Although there were only three vans there (6 couples) so that may not have taxed their system.
On the morning we left, a council worker attended to check out the amenities block and we chatted with him. We commented on how the gardens were obviously getting good attention and that the park was pretty good value.
He agreed they had made some improvements, particularly the grounds. However, he said the bloke they had hired for the grounds maintenance had been airlifted out the evening before as a result of a heart attack. They were going to have to find someone else to do the work.
Anyway, we will stay there again if travellling back through that way.
Cheers

Just an alternative that we found was great value with personal service ,out of town, all amenities was the buckara caravan park [check my spelling] on the northern track out on the plains, perhaps 30 kms ex Brewarrina ,same cost and owners in charge..We looked like a bush camp out there and found this park out of the blue,on farm ,almost a secret,no hesitation to recommend [and no affiliation]

Julie & John I'm with you on this one.

So many people have intolerable expectations of these places that are struggling for occupancy.

Take a look around, suck up some of the local issues, and then only participate if you want to help the local, often strained economy. You may just be surprised at what you discover.

Keep the big stick out of sight out here, where people are struggling, aye.

There are so many places out here that want support, not a flogging.

If you want anything above 0 star rating, stay in the big smoke.....there are plenty there.

Fred.

Fred - I trust you are not directing your comments at me. I was only telling it as it happened. The park was full the night we were there & nobody was happy. I travel the outback regularly & seek out out of the way places & am very tolerant.
I sent the email to let the Council to help them in their efforts on tourism. I have had 2 communications from the General Manager & they appreciated the feedback & are trying to improve the park.
