I am seriously thinking of acquiring an Ultimate Camper. Does anyone have a comment (good or bad) to make?

Ultimate is an excellent camper a mate had one & loved it we love our Kimberley, wife dos'nt like to cook inside feels too clostrophobic. It will follow most places your 4by will go. We took ours across the gulf this year on it's maiden voyage in july & for the first time the boss didn't want to come home she wanted to turn left at Longreach & head to the Cape ( me to ) but the business called (poo) Regards Bob

Picked up our Ultimate in May and we love it.
For us the sleeping configuration and inside galley & dinette is perfect.
Build quality and after sales support has been great.
Probably like everything in life - you get what you pay for.
Regards,
Brad

I think that's because we tend to spoil them with hair-dryers microwaves and dishwashers etc and now that us guys want to get back to nature for a while we find that the provision of those formentioned luxuries tend to bite us in the butt.

Major drawbacks with the Ultimate:
Fiddly to erect, struts, pins ets.
Internal bench height is too low
you have to totally remake the bed EVERY time it is set up

Major plusses
Excellent build quality
Excellent off-road

Pick our Ultimate in one and a half months.Sold the swan and the benches are the same height! Look at it this way , never see any second hand ultimates do we. When you sell it it will be easy and the will be a higher percent of the purchase price than most. This will be our third camper in twenty years and we think it will be the ultimate

I enquired about one, had to follow up the enquiry, finally received a video, looked at it, liked it, sent the video back and I have never heard from the company since.

I looked at it this way, if they couldn't follow me up to make a sale worth $30,000 plus, what was the after-sales service going to be like.

We looked at a couple of options and finally settled on a Kimberley Kamper and we are very happy with our choice.

Just our experience,
Cheers
