Great Central Road Feedback

Travelled the GCR in early july 2010, from Perth to Alice, road Ok, couple of bumpy spots. can be done in a 2wd, if fact we were overtaken by a new commodore wagon. NT side very bumpy, looks like no maintenance done for a couple of years.

Thanks Tom
I'm heading that way mid Sept. on route to Innaminka.
If it wasn't a bit rough it wouldn't as much fun

Hey Norm,

If you have time duck up the David Carnegie Rd & have a look at Empress Spring. Only 60km there & well worth a look. The road is good as far as the spring. But don't expect to find water there.. the names a little misleading.

Hi,
I went through just after you (around 21st July) & found it still in good condition on the WA side although a few corrugations east of the Hunt Oil Rd. towards Warburton.
The NT side wasn't too bad either as the graders were going through when I was there.
Great trip & some fantastic scenery especially as you approch the NT border from the west.
