Hairy (NT)
Gday,
Does anyone know what the condition of the roads between theses towns are in?
The road from Mt Magnet to
Sandstone is shown as a dirt"road" and from
Sandstone through to Leinster is shown as a dirt "track" on the map Im looking at.
Any info would be appreciated.
Cheers
Hairy

Yes hairy even to section from
Sandstone to Leinster. It is the main route for heavy haulage from
Perth to Mt. Kenneth as
well as the Leinster
mine. You could, in
places, land an aicraft on it.
Having said that, be aware that most of the product FROM the mines goes to the railhead at
Leonora.

Hi Hairy
Shire run Caravan
Park at
Sandstone is excellent (and dog friendly) if you want a change from the bush.

Yes Hairy, that's the one. Small, with cleanest and best amenities of the trip. As bush campers by preference, we called in for one night and stayed there three. Lovely little town too.

Only 116 people in the entire Shire of 28,218 square kilometres when we were there in 2008, probably less now. Should take you too long to before you need to move on.
