OZI CE Question

Gday,

At the moment my natmap ( Zone 52) ends between Warburton and Tjukayirla Roadhouse. I then need to stop what Im doing....find the next map (zone 51)....find where I was on the map and continue.

Can you get Ozi CE to find the next map automatically or join the zones together?

Cheers

Hairy,
I use the older 250K mosaic that is not as big as the higher resolution slices I think you are using and it will fit onto my PDA and Ozi doesn't have to load another map. In the config do you have search for more detailed map selected. I think that is what it is called. I live in Alice so if you would like to check things out live send me a PM and we can get together.

Thanks for the offer Ross.
We are in the process of moving and running out of time quickly! I think I might have the GPS thing sorted but will try and can catch up before I go any way.

Hi - yes OziCe should load the next adjoining map when you move into this area. Sounds like the program is not looking in the right spot for your maps...so you have to go into

File -> Configuration -> Map & Data Files

and specify where your maps are located

Image Could Not Be Found

There is another setting under

File -> Configuration -> Map Image Files

This setting is however irrelevant if you have your *.map (calibration) files in the same folder as the images ....so if that is the case ignore this one. If for some reason you do have these files iin separate folder then specifiy here where your imgaes are.

You also have to index your maps so Ozi knows where each one starts and each one finishes. Even if they are all in the same directory it can't tell which map to look at next unless they are indexed. I don't have Ozi in front of me at the moment so can't give you exact instructions but in one of the menus there is an "Index Maps" choice, or something similar.

Hi
Indexing is done automatically..unless you have turned it off (not recommended).

If you do have it turned off, this is the only real time you have to do it manually.

@Hairy - re Help file. Actually its not that helpful if you dont know what is causing the problem is in the first palce, so I retract my suggestion. It would be more helpful if there was a comprehnsive FAQ or troubleshooting section.

although it dosn't seem to be the case in this case... but if the detailed maps don't join/overlap then you get this effect. Having a lower resolution map covering the whole area helps to let you know it hasn't chucked a wobberly. Once it decides it can use the more detailed map it will change to it (if the map paths are correct as described above)
